In generic terms, what architecture is the SAS vendor seeing for the Domain Proxy in relation to the other systems (i.e. EMS, standalone, tied to other tools)? 

Generally speaking, an implementation tied to the eNB’s EMS is more predominant. However, other architectures are also possible and valid.
